Germaine Goh is a teacher who embodies creativity and a nurturing spirit. She fosters a supportive and inspiring learning environment where students are able to explore diverse musical genres and develop their artistic expressions and proficiency.
Germaine is a Singaporean composer and arranger whose musical oeuvre has been described as “whimsical, radiating warmth and sensitivity” (The Straits Times, 2023). Known for her versatility and eclectic artistic approach, her compositions span a wide array of genres, from symphonic and chamber music to jazz, big band, and pop productions. Her works have been performed by ensembles such as the Resound Chamber Orchestra, Jazz Association of Singapore Orchestra, Ding Yi Music Company, Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmonic Wind Orchestra. Notable among her concerto works are Odyssey – A Rock Fantasia for Double Ruan (premiered by Ding Yi, 2024) and Kaleidoscope – Fantasy for Clarinet and Orchestra (premiered by ACSO, 2022), both of which received critical acclaim.
Germaine’s multidisciplinary endeavours include composing for animated short films, musicals, and dance. She serves as the Composer-in-Residence for the local dance collective The Kueh Tutus, where she has been the Music Director and Composer for numerous productions since 2017. Germaine graduated with first-class honours from LASALLE College of the Arts, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition and Arranging in 2018.
