Yifan adopts a personalised teaching approach, adjusting her teaching pace and methods to each student’s musical foundation and rhythmic awareness, ensuring clear and steady progress. Through guided discussion and active engagement, she encourages students to think independently, articulate their musical ideas, and develop confidence in their dizi performance.
Wang Yifan builds her teaching on strong technical foundations, focusing on essential skills such as breath control and fingering before guiding students to apply these techniques through practical musical examples drawn from her performance experience. She also offers multilingual instruction, using clear Chinese-based explanations to support understanding of musical concepts.
As a performer, Wang Yifan serves as a dizi player with the Ardent Chamber Ensemble. In 2016, she participated in student exchange performances involving the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, the Central Conservatory of Music, and the China Conservatory of Music, including Changyin Yayun. She has also performed in the Xinyun Guoyue friendship exchange concert between the NAFA Chinese Chamber Ensemble and the Chinese orchestra, appeared as a guest performer at a Singapore Chinese Orchestra fund-raising concert, and teaches as a CCA instructor in both primary and secondary schools. She also received Second Prize at the International Chinese Traditional Instruments Competition in 2012.
