Charlotte is fun and engaging, but also very kind and patient. Lessons with Charlotte promise to be a pleasant affair, but her deep experience and love for her craft will ensure that you progress at a pace which will continually spur your interest and enthusiasm.
Charlotte is fluent in both and English and mandarin, and is suitable for a range of students.
Charlotte first discovered her interest in Guzheng in primary school, which led her to join the Guzheng ensemble in her secondary school, PLMGS, under the guidance of Mr Thum Soon Boon. She continued to develop proficiency in other instruments by picking up the Erhu, which she played in Eunoia Junior College’s Chinese Orchestra. Despite her heavy school commitments, Charlotte was an active participant in the music-based CCAs and have several SYF distinction performances under her belt. Outside of school, she has participated in performances such as Dingyi Music Company’s production of Mulan.
Charlotte has benefitted from training Guzheng under a few teachers, most recently under the tutelage of the esteemed Teacher Zhang Lu Fen. She hopes to adapt the various approaches to the style which suits you best.
