With a genuine love for music, Yifan commenced her study of Guzheng at the age of five under the guidance of Ms. Zhao Na from the Sichuan Conservatory of Music.
Throughout her primary and secondary school years, she played a leading role in the school Guzheng ensemble and took part in the Guzheng Chinese Spring Festival Gala in 2017. In the same year, she participated in competitions such as the ‘Ninth Zhongsin Music Competition,’ where she was awarded 1st prize in the Guzheng solo open category.
During her high school years, she pursued her studies abroad and received valuable guidance from Ms. Xie Wanyin and Zhang Yunxiang from the China Conservatory of Music. She achieved the silver prize in the Guzheng solo open category at the “Macau Guzheng Competition.”
In 2021, Chen Yifan successfully enrolled in the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, where she was under the tutelage of Ms. Yin Qun, the Director of the Qin Zheng Association.
Additionally, she is also learning Percussion instruments under the guidance of Mr. Shen Guoqin, one of the percussionists from Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) and performed in various school concerts In order to achieve a more well-rounded development in the field of music.
During her time in Singapore, she actively participated in a wide array of concerts and competitions as a soloist and musicians in ensemble and orchestra settings. She has collaborated with local music groups and organizations as a guest musician including Dingyi Music Company and Hsinghai Association to enrich her musical experiences. In 2022, she proudly represented the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, School of Music (NAFA SOM) at the Singapore Chinese Music Competition (SCMC), securing Bronze in the Guzheng solo senior category and Silver in the Professional ensemble category.
In 2023, Chen Yifan participated in the Nanyang International Music Competition((NIMC) , where she clinched a silver prize in the Guzheng Solo senior category and achieved Gold and Silver in two distinct ensembles within the Chinese ensemble professional category.
She has also joined Siongleng as an Annual artist to continue her music path in Singapore.
