Eugenia is a patient and passionate teacher who ensures that her students will have an enjoyable and fun time during lessons. Her dedication to teaching enables her to set a comfortable learning pace for each student and ensure that her students grasp the concepts and fundamentals well before moving on. Able to teach in both English and Chinese, students are able to learn in the language they are more comfortable in and allow them to better understand their lessons.
Eugenia learnt of the beautiful sound of the Erhu when she joined the Chinese Orchestra in her primary school at the age of 8. She was the concertmaster of her secondary school Chinese Orchestra and went under the tutelage of Chia Wan Hua in 2017, achieving a Grade 8 Distinction in the CI-TENG Chinese Music Instrumental Grading Examinations the year after. Currently learning under hermentor Xu Wenjing, she is pursuing her Bachelor of Education (Honours) at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA).
Currently an active musician, Eugenia has performed various ensemble and orchestral works with NAFA and Singapore Nationals Youth Chinese Orchestra (SNYCO), as well as community orchestras such as the Marsiling Chinese Orchestra and Bukit Batok Chinese Orchestra. She has also performed Teochew music with the Namhwa Opera Limited on different occasions.
A recipient of the Mapletree-TENG Academy Scholarship in 2022, she has performed in places like the Tan Chin Tuan Mansion as well as the Mapletree-TENG annual ‘Once upon a Time’ concert together with the TENG ensemble as its scholar.
