Khor Yee Sing

Khor Yee Sing is a Singapore-based professional dizi musician and educator. She holds a Bachelor of Music (Honours) in Dizi Performance from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), where she also completed her Diploma in Music. During her studies, she participated in an exchange programme at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing.

As an educator, Yee Sing has extensive experience teaching students of different ages and abilities. She currently teaches dizi at Eight Tones Music School and has also worked as a CCA instructor and dizi instructor at various schools and Chinese music organisations in Singapore. She has taught students ranging from young beginners to adults aged 70 and above, adapting her lessons according to each student’s learning goals and needs.

As a performer, Yee Sing has worked with various professional and youth Chinese music ensembles in Singapore, including Siong Leng Musical Association, Singapore Chinese Orchestra, Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra, Reverberence Singapore Chinese Wind Percussion Ensemble, and NAFA Chinese Orchestra. Her performance experience includes solo, ensemble and overseas performances, and she was awarded First Prize with full marks at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in 2025.

Yee Sing believes in building a strong foundation while keeping lessons engaging and approachable. Her lessons focus on developing good playing habits, breathing and embouchure techniques, tone production, musical expression and confidence. Whether students are learning dizi as a hobby, preparing for examinations, or working towards Chinese orchestra and performance goals, she aims to provide structured and personalised guidance throughout their musical journey.
