Zhou Yayi is a talented young musician who has been dedicated to learning the Guzheng since she was just six years old. Throughout her musical journey, Yayi has had the opportunity to study with some of the best teachers in the field, including Lu Jing, Jiang Danxi, and Zhang Yin at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music Middle School, and Xu Hui at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore. With such a strong foundation and guidance from these accomplished musicians, it’s no surprise that Yayi has already achieved so much in her musical career. Whether she’s performing traditional Chinese music on stage or experimenting with new sounds and styles, there’s no doubt that Yayi has a bright future ahead of her as a Guzheng player.

Zhou Yayi has received many awards and accolades throughout the years. In 2011, she competed in the third Hong Kong International Cultural Festival Competition and took home the gold prize. In 2012 and 2013, she entered the 6th and 7th Zhongxin International Music Competition in the Guzheng Solo Open Category and emerged victorious both times, winning first place consecutively.

In 2016, she was a member of the NAFA Chinese Chamber Quartet, which entered the Singapore National Chinese Competition and took first place. And in 2017, the quartet entered the Nanyang International Music Competition and once again took home the top prize.

Throughout her studies and career, Yayi has clearly demonstrated a passion and talent for music, and it’s clear that she has a bright future ahead of her as a Guzheng musician.
