Zhang Qiyuan is a dedicated and patient Guzheng teacher from China. She delivers well-structured, high-quality lessons, adapting to each student’s pace and goals. Her teaching is rigorous yet encouraging, helping learners build solid technique and musical expression step by step.
Zhang Qiyuan started learning the Guzheng at age five. She pursued further studies with Professor Qi Yao and Dr. Deng Yiqun from Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Currently, she is studying Chinese Music at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). She learns Guzheng under Ms. Xu Hui, Principal Guzheng of Singapore Chinese Orchestra, and studies Chinese percussion with guest professor Shen Guoqin.
She is an award-winning performer with rich stage experience. In 2025, she received the Distinguished Gold Prize at the 6th Nanyang International Music Competition in Singapore. She has also won numerous gold awards in other national and international competitions. She has taken part in professional concert performances and participated in guzheng score recording for Singapore dance productions.
She teaches students of all ages. Her classes cater to hobby learning, exam and competition training, focusing on fundamental skills and musicality.
